HAL Hospital blamed over employees unfortunate death in Sunabeda

Report by Kalpana Manjari Ray, Sunabeda: Reportedly, HAL employee named Daitari Swain(35) of UMA-620 department of Sukhoi engine division, HAL was suffering from Urinal infection since 3rd December, 2015. He was admitted in HAL hospital for 6 days for diagnosis. After the betterment of health he was discharged on 8th of December. The same infection was recognized on 24th December, then he was rushed to HAL Hospital. He was under treatment for the day on 25th he ascertained blood in urine. When he reported to the concerned Doctor Mr. Sanjaya Mohapatra he was replied nothing to worry. But it continued for hours. At 9pm he was instructed not to take food for morning examination, but the infection went worse. During 10pm he was severely captured under pain and illustration. All of sudden his family members were advised to refer to Care hospital at Vishakapatnam (Andhra Pradesh). He was provided with an ambulance without any emergency. The said ambulance was also half field tank and with full of technical issues. 

On the way to Vishakapatnam at Saluru when Daitari swain was out of control his family members rushed to Saluru Hospital for first Aid but failed to provide due to lack escorts from hospital. The all of sudden they rushed to Vishakapatnam but on the way at Vijayanagram he lost his sense. When he reached to Vishakapatnam he was declared dead. When the message reached to his family and friends a wave of sorrow Seeded among them. When it was inquired all about it was ascertained it all happened due to negligence of Doctors and HAL Hospital’s Management. On 26th all the employees gathered at the HAL Hospital for the answer for his death but no reply came out due to which the three registered Unions i.e. HAMS, HAEA and BAEU along with all employees of Koraput Division speeded and strike was called at HAL hospital. The roads were blocked for 3 hours. 

Around 12 noon HAL General Manger Sri Debasis Deb reached the hospital for the settlement of the case. Sri Deb, recognized Union HAMS, Three HAL Employees and His Family members were called for meeting and settlement. In the said meeting it was decided that Daitari Swain’s spouse will be provided with job in Aeronautics Education society. His family will be provided with better facilities, a core committee will sit for the investigation for the case, within 72 hours the case will be finalize and three more highly equipped ambulance will be provided for the refer cases in HAL hospital, Sources added.
